Arsenal have received some encouraging news regarding one of their top transfer targets, as he has yet to sign a new deal with his current club.

Juventus are struggling to keep hold of star striker Dusan Vlahovic due to his steep financial demands, according to reports.

So far this season, Vlahovic has scored four goals and has registered a single assist over the course of eight Serie A games - he has not found the back of the net in his last four appearances for the Old Lady, however [via Transfermarkt]. All in all, since Vlahovic signed for Juventus back in the summer of 2022, he has scored 21 league goals over the course of 50 games in the Serie A.

Despite his adequate start to the season at the Allianz Stadium, Vlahovic is reportedly ‘failing to match expectations’ thus far. Juventus seem keen to move him on - which could allow the Gunners to move in and snap him up.

Vlahovic’s wages at Juventus are set to increase year upon year - as such, it will become increasingly expensive - and financially unviable - for them to keep him at the club. He has also been suffering with injuries this season - he has missed two Serie A games due to a minor back problem.

Who else is interested in a move for Dusan Vlahovic?

Of course, Arsenal are not the only ones who have Vlahovic in their sights. He has also been linked with moves to high-profile clubs such as Chelsea, Aston Villa, Real Madrid, PSG, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich.

However, as things stand, Arsenal appear to be the frontrunners to land Vlahovic’s signature. Most of the clubs mentioned were linked with the Serbian over the course of the 2023 summer transfer window - it is not clear if their respective pursuits of the player still persist.
