The Hornets have snapped him up on a free transfer and have announced the addition on their official club website.

Arsenal spell

Gaspar linked up with Arsenal back in 2020 having previously played in Brazil for Corinthians.

He has been a key player for the U18s over the past couple of years and also represented the club’s U23s side.

The midfielder is joining Watford at that level initially and will be eager to show what he can do with the Hertfordshire outfit.

They were relegated from the Premier League last season and will be looking to gain an immediate promotion back to the top flight under new boss Rob Edwards, who has joined from Forest Green Rovers following Roy Hodgson’s exit.

Gaspar’s chances of playing first-team football over the next few years are greater at Watford then they would have been at Arsenal due to the abundance of options the Gunners have in his position.

Who else has left the Gunners?

Gaspar isn’t the only player to have left the Emirates Stadium this summer. The London outfit have cut ties with midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos and striker Alexandre Lacazette.

They only let development squad players Jonathan Dinzeyi, Joel Lopez and Jordan McEneff leave at the end of the last campaign.
