Arsenal are set to do battle with Liverpool for the signature of a young Brazilian - they are also interested in a young defender who plays in the Serie A.

With the January transfer window just over a couple of months away, teams in the Premier League are looking to do business. Today, we’ll be looking at a pair of players who Arsenal appear to be interested in.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in a Brazilian wonderkid who currently plays for Fluminese - but they aren’t alone, as Liverpool are also believed to be in the hunt.

Additionally, Arsenal are also keeping an eye on a young defender who currently plays in the Serie A - even as he prepares to sign a new contract with his current club.

Arsenal and Liverpool interested in Andre

Arsenal are thought to be interested in a move for Liverpool transfer target Andre, according to a post on X by journalist Thiago Ferreira.

In the post, Ferreira wrote: “My friends, I received some information and I want to share it with you, Arsenal are interested in André and will try to cross Liverpool for him.”

Andre is touted as a technically gifted defensive midfielder with a footballing IQ well beyond his years. Aged just 22, he is also capable of playing as a central midfielder and in the number ten role.

Should Arsenal manage to get their hands on him, he could be an excellent replacement for the aging Thomas Partey - with Jorginho also on the wrong side of 30, bringing in a promising holding player could be crucial.

Arsenal keeping tabs on Michael Kayode

Fiorentina youngster Michael Kayode is also thought to be in the Gunners’ crosshairs. According to a report from Corriere Dello Sport, Fiorentina are trying to tie him down with a new contract until 2028 - but this has not dissuaded Arsenal in their pursuit.

Despite this, should Kayode agree to a new contract with I Gigliati, then Arsenal will instead aim to sign him next summer, instead of in the January transfer window.
