Arsenal target 'training alone' as Gunners could move for Premier League striker

Arsenal have been linked with a move for a player who is currently training alone - they could also make a move for a striker who plays in the Premier League.

The January transfer window is not far away from shutting its doors - and Arsenal have yet to bring any new players to the club this month. Of course, this could all change in an instant - who have the Gunners been linked with today?

A striker who has been linked with Arsenal reportedly 'training by himself' at his current club and is 'not happy at all' with the current situation. He isn't the only forward that the Gunners have been mentioned alongside - they are also thought to be in the hunt for an £18 million Premier League hitman.

Karim Benzema moved to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad in the summer - suffice to say, it has not been a match made in heaven for the two parties. The French international is currently training away from the rest of the team and is 'not happy' with how he is being used.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano on the Men in Blazers Podcast, who said: "Karim returned to training with Al-Ittihad, he’s regularly training now with the squad but not with the rest of the group, he’s training by himself I am told, he’s training alone, it is a very tense situation between Benzema, people at the club, the manager, they are not happy at all with the current situation."

Gunners linked with Newcastle United's Callum Wilson

The Gunners have been tentatively linked with several forwards in the January transfer window - the latest name in the Arsenal rumour mill is Callum Wilson. According to a report from The Standard, they could secure his services for as little as £18 million.

Arsenal are not the only club who are thought to be lining up a bid for the former Bournemouth man, though. Both Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the player - as such, a bidding war could spring up between the three clubs should any of them submit a formal offer.
