Reported Arsenal target Ryan Gravenberch has already made it clear he is not happy at current club Bayern Munich.

The Dutch midfielder has been with Bayern since 2022, joining from Ajax for a fee worth around £20million in all. Though, the step up to Bundesliga football has not come easily for Gravenberch, who has made just 18 league appearances since, struggling for game time under former boss Julian Nagelsman.

Even under Thomas Tuchel, the 20-year-old has struggled for game time, and that factor has seen him linked with a move away, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United linked.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal and Liverpool are the most interested, but a deal is not going to be easy, with Bayern extremely reluctant to sell. But the player is not a happy bunny, and far from it, if his previous quotes are anything to go by.

In April, he told @Ajaxshowtimecom: “I don’t regret my decision. I had hoped and expected to be playing more at Bayern but until now it didn’t go as expected.

“For me this is a pity, but I know how to deal with it. Bayern rejected Premier League club approaches in January.”

Speaking back in September of 2022, months after arriving in Bavaria, Gravenberch appeared even more unhappy, saying: “To be honest, yes I am (unhappy with playing time). I want to play, but the manager is picking other players. I have to accept it, but it’s difficult. I was hoping for more minutes but I have to stay calm.”

Bayern may not be willing to sell Gravenberch, but player power is a significant factor in transfers, and that means a deal could yet be done this summer if the midfielder is unhappy enough. The Gunners may well be watching on with interest as the summer approaches.
