Arsenal star dubbed ‘most stylish’ player as ‘late transfer enquiry’ emerges

All the latest Arsenal news and transfer rumours as the international games get up and running.

Arsenal are now in the midst of an international break after a solid start to the new season.

The Gunners are off to an unbeaten start, winning three of their first four and drawing the other, rounding off the first part of their season with a late win over Manchester United. There have been some growing pains early on, but Mikel Arteta’s men have still managed to put together a start that has kept them within two points of the so far faultless Manchester City.

As the internationals get up and running, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Neto interest

Arsenal are said to have enquired about Wolves star Pedro Neto during the summer window.

The Telegraph are saying Neto is a long-term target of Arsenal’s, and they are said to have expressed an interest in the summer, but no formal bid ever came to pass. Wolves had already made a number of sales in the summer, so it’s likely they would have driven a hard bargain.

Arsenal are likely to add a winger at some point to help add depth out wide, but they will have to make do for now.

Odegaard praise

Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has attracted praise from former striker Glenn Murray after his fine strike against Manchester United.

Murray said on Premier League Productions: “All of a sudden it just opens up for Odegaard, and he’s the last person. I mean he’s one of the most stylish footballers in the League with the way he caresses the ball, the last person you want the ball rolled back to on their left foot is Odegaard and he makes no mistake.”

Odegaard has proven a bargain for Arsenal, quickly becoming the club captain and leading by example with his performances.
