Youngster eyed

According to reporter Tom Bogert on X, Arsenal are showing ‘interest’ in highly-rated New England Revolution winger Noel Buck along with Manchester City and Burnley. The 18-year-old, who is an England youth international due to being eligible to play for the Three Lions through his father, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and his current club could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line amid attention from Europe.

Buck has already broken into the first-team at New England in MLS despite his tender age and is a key player for them. He has made 36 appearances in all competitions to date, chipping in with four goals and one assist.

Coach latest

Arsenal U18s coach Jack Wilshere is in ‘talks’ with Colorado Rapids over their vacant managerial role, as per a report by The Athletic. The ex-Gunners midfielder hung up his boots in 2022 after injury struggles and has since delved into the coaching world at the Emirates Stadium.

Wilshere, 31, is now in the frame to land his first role as a number one. Academy manager Per Mertesacker has been impressed with the work his former teammate has been doing and has recently said: “It was brilliant to see him presenting himself, what he stands for, what he wants to be like, what coach he wants to be, how he wants to play. That needs to be somewhat aligned with what Mikel wants to see.”
