Arsenal suffered a setback in their bid to win the Premier League title on Sunday, drawing with Liverpool.

The Gunners led by two at Anfield but couldn’t hold on, allowing Manchester City to close the gap to six points in the process. A six-point cushion may appear significant for Arsenal, but City still have a game in hand, and they also have to play the Gunners before the end of the season, meaning the title race is essentially in the hands of both teams, with goal difference also likely to play a role.

As the race continues, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Xhaka warning

BBC pundit Garth Crooks has expressed concerns over Granit Xhaka as Arsenal chase down the title.

Crooks has said: “The Gunners are extremely close to producing something very special this season but a word of warning: Granit Xhaxa is a loose cannon on a journey littered with explosives and Arsenal have to do something about him before he destroys their entire season.”

Xhaka has been in fine form this season, but his fiery side may have distracted Arsenal during the draw with Liverpool, and it goes against Arteta’s composed approach.

Rabiot boost

Arsenal are said to have received a boost in their reported bid to land Juventus star Adrien Rabiot.

According to TuttoJuve, Juve are far from certain Rabiot will pen a new deal this summer when his current deal expires. Arsenal are said to be interested as they look to strengthen their midfield, likely with more than one signing. It’s likely the Gunners will have to spend big to land the likes of Declan Rice or Moises Caicedo, so snapping up Rabiot for free would be a huge boost.

Rabiot is a vastly experienced midfielder at club and international level, and he would certainly have a role to play at the Emirates Stadium next year.
