Arsenal ready £69m statement offer for Champions League winner as new contract confirmed
All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they prepare for their pre-season opener.
Arsenal are now approaching their first game of pre-season, and they are hoping to get more business done by the time they kick off in Singapore next week. The Gunners have already been plenty active in the market, but they still have positions they need to strengthen.

Mikel Arteta still needs a striker, while the Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera deals still need finalising. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.
Rodrygo ‘offer prepared’
Arsenal are said to be preparing a £69million offer to sign Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo. The Gunners are preparing to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea for £52million, and they are now being tipped to sign an even more expensive winger.
CaughtOffside say the Gunners are readying a big offer for Rodrygo, and that figure is in the ballpark of what Loas Blancos are reportedly asking for to agree a sale. The move would surely oblige Arsenal to sell a winger, and Leandro Trossard would likely be first in line, assuming Reiss Nelson is already set for departure.
Youngster pens deal
Arsenal have managed to tie young talent Louis Zecevic-John down to a new contract, with the young winger penning professional terms with the club. He told the club website when asked about the inspirational path set by Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly: “They're only a few years above me and just looking at the steps they took, Myles wasn't necessarily a left-back, but taking the opportunity as a left-back. Now they’re starting for Arsenal. I think Ethan and Myles are huge inspirations to hopefully follow their tracks to the first-team.”
He added on his journey to Arsenal: “I was a bit lucky. I went to school with Per’s (Mertesacker) kids. I usually just played football on the field for my school team. One day my mum, and Per, saw me playing quite well on the field. He took it upon himself to message my mum about the whole system, and the whole trialling and all that stuff. I was quite lucky, but I'm grateful.
“Now I've got the opportunity to not only showcase my talent, but also show my family how much hard work I've put in, which they don't usually see in the training sessions, more so in the matches.”
Tomiyasu opens up on departure
Takehiro Tomiyasu has opened up on his and Arsenal’s decision to end their relationship by mutually cancelling the defender’s contract. “It wasn’t a sudden decision to leave,” Tomiyasu told DAZN Japan. “First of all, I want to make it clear that my contract wasn’t terminated unilaterally, and I didn’t unilaterally say: ‘I’m leaving’.
“We had a proper discussion and came to the conclusion that: ‘This decision is best for me, for the club, and for everyone’. So I’m leaving. It all ended amicably. From my perspective, it’s the best timing. I’ll be free, and most importantly, the most positive thing about this decision is that it will allow me to focus on my rehabilitation and on myself.
“I was there for four years, but I only played five minutes in the 2024-25 season, and I spent a whole year in rehabilitation. I was under a lot of stress and anxiety. To be honest, I wasn’t feeling like I was there anymore, and I was wondering: ‘Is this where my future is?’
