Gunners eye Coutinho

Arsenal are ready to make a summer move for Philippe Coutinho, currently on loan at Aston Villa from Barcelona, according to Sport.

The Brazilian has impressed during the early stages of his temporary stint in the midlands, registering four goals and three assists in his first 10 Premier League outings.

And that form has been enough to alert Arsenal to his potential availability.

Villa will have to pay around £33.5 million to make Coutinho’s loan move permanent in the summer, but the Gunners could look to hijack any deal with a bid of their own.

Atletico in for Roberto

Reported Arsenal transfer target Sergi Roberto has an offer from Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

The versatile star is out of contract with Barcelona at the end of the season, and had been linked with a potential move to north London, as per ARA, last month.

But with Atletico’s offer now tabled, there is seemingly a strong possibility that he could remain in Spain by completing a free transfer.

Campbell claims Gunners want Haaland

Former Arsenal hitman Kevin Campbell has told Stadium Astro that he is sure Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

The Norwegian sensation has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga outfit in the coming months, and while Arsenal would face stiff competition to secure his services, Campbell is convinced that they would jump at the opportunity to bring him to north London.

He said: “Would they be in for Haaland? I am sure they would love him, I am sure Mikel Arteta is speaking to Odegaard to try to speak to him, but I think that ship has sailed. I think Odegaard can’t spin him to join Arsenal.”
