Kai Havertz's late header secured Arsenal's top spot in the Premier League with a thrilling victory over Brentford during Mikel Arteta's 200th game in charge.
Despite a drab performance, Havertz's 88th-minute goal proved decisive. The win, following draws by Manchester City and Liverpool, puts Arsenal one point ahead in the league.
Leandro Trossard's first-half goal was disallowed by VAR, and Brentford's efforts were thwarted by outstanding clearances from Declan Rice and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
After improving in the second half, Brentford's resilient defence held firm until Bukayo Saka's moment of brilliance allowed Havertz to head home at the back post for a crucial victory.
