Arsenal see winning streak come to an end after a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Arsenal missed a chance to go 10 points clear of second place Manchester City with a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The Gunners had the best chances of the game but had to settle for a point against the Magpies who had their own dangerous moments in the game.

The best chance of the game fell to Eddie Nketiah in the second half -and the Arsenal strike fired through on goal but Nick Pope, in post for Newcastle, saved with his leg to ensure his side stayed in the game.

The Gunners had won their last 10 Premier League games at the Emirates and had beaten Newcastle in their last seven games at home- but it was Eddie Howe’s side who would put a stop to their winning streak in the league.

Striker Eddie Nketiah played well again, he had scored 11 in his last 11 starts at the Emirates but he would look back at his chance and wonder how that did not go in.

Arsenal now move eight points ahead of Manchester City, who must now beat Chelsea if they are cut the lead down to five.

Eddie Howe will be delighted with the point and performance of his team, the grit and organisation shown by the players. Much has been made of  the money they have suddenly come into- but the way he’s been able to get previously low performing player excel has been quite satisfactory.
