Arsenal, in their last Premier League outing, battled to a frustrating 0-0 draw at home to Newcastle United. With the January transfer window open and underway, will the Gunners look to bolster their ranks for the second half of the season? Likewise, will anyone be removed from Arsenal’s books?

The Gunners have reportedly been linked with a highly coveted striker, who signed for Juventus for a fee of around £70 million last year. While Arsenal’s interest in the Serbian seems apparent, it is believed that they will struggle to bring him on board in January - currently, signing him in the summer appears to be a more realistic prospect.

Additionally, an Arsenal target could be heading to the Premier League soon - but not to north London. According to reports, Newcastle United are also interested in bringing him in.

Arsenal linked with Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal are reportedly interested in the prospect of bringing Dusan Vlahovic on board, according to Corriere dello Sport. Despite this, the Gunners are unlikely to sign him in January (per Dean Jones speaking with GiveMeSport).

While Arsenal’s chances of landing Vlahovic in the winter look remote, they might be able to snap him up in the summer. Jones said: “I’m still told the chances of getting Vlahovic in this window are slim to no chance. But at the end of the season, if Arsenal maintain this kind of form they will be capable of pretty much anything in the transfer market.”

Vlahovic is under contract with Juventus until 2026. As such, the Gunners could be required to pay a large sum of money to secure his services - money that Juventus would happily accept, given their reported financial difficulties.

Gunners could miss out on Ivan Fresneda

An Arsenal target, Ivan Fresneda, has reportedly been in talks with Newcastle United (per Sky Sports). According to reports, Fresneda is ‘flattered’ by the interest shown in him by the Magpies.

Fresneda, 18, has a year and a half left on his current deal at Real Valladolid. He has made nine appearances in all competitions so far this season for the Spanish club.
