Hide AdCallum Wilson - Out
Wilson has a hamstring issue and will be sidelined for a couple of weeks.
Jamaal Lascelles - Out
Lascelles is not expected to return until February. He himself said: “I should be back on the grass soon and jogging in the next few weeks. It'll take me a while to build up from there, but I'm happy to be ticking those boxes, and now it's about getting my boots back on and progressing slowly that way.”
Nick Pope - Out
Pope is not expected to return from a knee injury until some time around mid-January. Eddie Howe has said: “Nick is doing OK; he has had a couple of injections in his knee, quite when he will be fit; it is still difficult to give a definitive date.”
Emil Krafth - Out
Krafth will not return until later in January, with Howe saying: “Emil is working well after undergoing surgery - back on the grass and running.”

Hide AdSven Botman - Fit
Botman limped off against Spurts, but Howe is confident he will be okay, saying: “I don’t think it was anything more than cramp for Sven. Which was expected given the amount of time he’s been out.”
Ben White - Out
White will be out after having a procedure on his knee. Arteta said at the time: “Ben is going to be out for months. We had to make a decision in the last few weeks, unfortunately. It got to a point where we had to protect the player, and we decided to do the surgery.”
Raheem Sterling - Doubt
Sterling should be in contention here despite missing out on Saturday. Arteta said last week: “The news with Raz, I think it's better. We have to see this week how he evolves. So, hopefully, that's good because we need him.”
Kai Havertz - Doubt
Havertz is currently struggling with illness and will be a real doubt here. Arteta said after the weekend’s draw: “Kai tried but he really was very honest and said: ‘I can’t even train, I’m not feeling good at all’. We tried yesterday to see if he could train and he tried his best but he wasn’t able to do that. Martin (Odegaard) didn’t train and said 'I will see how I feel tomorrow' and he did his best to be here because we know the numbers that we have.”

Hide AdMartin Odegaard - Doubt
The same applies for Odegaard, as covered in the above update.
Bukayo Saka - Out
Saka is out with a hamstring injury, and that will be the case for some time. Arteta has said: “He had a procedure. Everything went well. But unfortunately, he will be out for many, many weeks. I think it will be more than two months. I don't know exactly how much longer.”
Takehiro Tomiyasu - Out
We are still waiting for a fresh update on Tomiyasu as he continues his long recovery from a knee injury. He shouldn’t be too far off, but the defender does remain out for now.
Ethan Nwaneri - Doubt
Nwaneri is almost certain to miss out given the short turnaround. Arteta said after the Brighton game: “Unfortunately I think we’ve lost him as well, so it’s another one, but we carry on. I don’t know (what the injury is), it was a muscular thing, so we had to take him out.”
