Arsenal are currently one of three clubs said to be interested in signing the German winger Leroy Sane. Sane, 28, will see his contract with Bayern Munich run out next summer and as a new deal is yet to be agreed, clubs from across Europe are quickly beginning to eye a move for the Germany international.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), journalist Ekrem Konur said of Sane’s situation: “Barcelona, Arsenal and Newcastle are all race to sign the 28-year-old German winger Leroy Sane, whose contract with Bayern Munich will expire next summer.

The 28-year-old winger joined the Bundesliga giants in 2020 after being sold by Manchester City for an initial fee of £44.7 million. He has since gone on to make 179 appearances for the Bavarian club across all competitions, scoring 59 goals and registering a further 50 assists.
The ex-City star is believed to earn around £16.8m a year - a figure that could see him the highest earner in N7 if Arsenal do indeed succeed in bringing the German international across the channel.
With such high wages to consider, it seems unlikely Barcelona would be able to make an offer that could match either Arsenal’s or Newcastle’s potential proposal but it remains to be seen whether the former Schalke 04 star wishes to return to the Premier League and potentially team up with his former City coach Arteta.

As there is currently no option to buy the England winger next summer, Arteta could well be seeking to sign a similarly well experienced alternative that can help reduce the workload currently on the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
