Arsenal are set to lose another player for free this summer with another out of contract player set to sign elsewhere.

Arsenal will lose another player in the summer after deciding not to offer a new contract. The Gunners already know Kieran Tierney will join Celtic at the end of his current contract, with the Scot returning from injury recently and forming a part of Mikel Arteta’s squad plans.

But Arsenal were never going to offer him a new deal, and while they are happy for him to join the Bhoys for free this summer, they made sure he will be available for Mikel Arteta between now and then.

It’s a similar case with veteran midfielder Jorginho, who is also in the final year of his deal. It was being reported that Flamengo would move to sign him in the coming days, but CaughtOffside are now reporting that a deal will be done, but it will follow the same pattern as Tierney.

Jorginho has reportedly agreed a deal to return to Brazil, rejecting offers from Fiorentina and a couple of Turkish sides, but he will not be moving until the summer transfer window, when he will join for free. Again, Arteta will be pleased to keep the current level of depth given he and his squad haven’t had the best luck with injuries this season.

Arsenal signed Jorginho for around £12million from Chelsea in 2023, and he has since made 48 league appearances for the Gunners. He has again been a squad player this season, but he has still made 20 appearances across all competitions.

Arteta said of Jorginho in December: "That is his quality. I always mention his biggest quality is his capacity to make others better. Last season was the same.

"At the start there was less games, we don't play that many midweek matches and he had less minutes. But I told him to be ready because there is going to be a time, and it is not going to be in one week you have to play, you are going to play now or tomorrow. The way he prepares is top so when he needs to play he is ready."
