Arsenal vs Man City injury news as 7 ruled out and 3 doubts
All the injury news surrounding Arsenal and Manchester City as they prepare to face off in the Premier League.
Arsenal return to action on Sunday in what will be another big test against a Manchester City side that has been shaky so far. Pep Guardiola’s men are already three points behind Arsenal and six behind Liverpool, but that will make them a dangerous proposition.

The Gunners picked up a big win in the Champions League during the week, and they will want to keep up their momentum here. Here we round up the latest injury news surrounding both sides.
Mathis Cherki - Out
Guardiola confirmed at the end of August: “He’s out for two months. Seven or eight week.” Cherki has a hamstring issue.
Omar Marmoush - Out
Marmoush has a knee injury, with Guardiola explaining last week: “We have to wait for tests, but a few weeks, I think. Before the international break, he will be ready.”
Mateo Kovacic - Out
Kovacic is on his way back, according to Guardiola, but he is unlikely to play before October.
Kalvin Phillips - Out
Phillips has an Achilles issue that is likely to keep him out for some time yet.
John Stones - Doubt
Stones has been dealing with a small issue and is hoping to return.
Bukayo Saka - Out
Saka is getting closer to a return, but he will not return until early October. Arteta said this week: “I think there are still quite a lot of things to go through. It’s very early to understand when and which week he’s going to be available. But he will certainly be pushing to be available as quickly as possible.”
Martin Odegaard - Doubt
Odegaard is battling a shoulder injury that resurfaced last weekend. He will remain a doubt as he battles to return, although given it resurfaced, Arsenal may want to take extra precaution.
Ben White - Doubt
White has been struggling with a knee injury of late. He missed the Champions League game and will remain a doubt here.
Kai Havertz - Out
Havertz will be out until late November, but Arteta provided a fresh update last week. He said: “He’s looking really good, he’s walking freely. He’s starting to load the knee and to do some bits. As I said before, I think we’re taking it from weeks to months. It was a very tough decision for him to go and have that procedure done. But I think it was necessary, and it was the right decision from the medical team to persuade him to do that.”
Gabriel Jesus - Out
Jesus remains out and will likely remain out until the new year. Arteta said last week: “He had a major surgery - it was going to take him many, many months. After discussing with the medical staff and understanding the schedule, we thought that he could be available between December and January. Hopefully, we did it wrong, and he comes back earlier.”
