Arsenal make 'contact' with key Chelsea target as £50m price-tag slapped on midfielder also liked by Man Utd

Your round-up of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours as Mikel Arteta prepares to face Nottingham Forest this evening.

Arsenal return to Premier League action this evening with a trip to Nottingham Forest in a reverse of the season opener. Mikel Arteta's side won 2-1 at the Emirates back in August and will hope to build on the 5-0 drubbing of Crystal Palace 10 days ago.

While Arteta and his players focus purely on this evening's trip to the City Ground, recruitment chiefs in North London will have their sights set on any late transfer business. And with Thursday's deadline looming, LondonWorld has taken a look at some of the latest transfer rumours.

Osimhen 'contact'

Arsenal have reportedly made 'contact' with representatives of Victor Osimhen regarding a move to the Emirates. Italian television station Rai2 (via CalcioNapoli 24) reports that the Gunners are 'concretely' interested in the striker, who looks set to leave Napoli this summer.

Osimhen signed a new contract with the Serie A champions in December, extending his stay for a further year until 2026. As well as a huge salary increase, that contract is thought to contain a release clause worth over £100million.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already confirmed that the Nigerian will leave in the summer, with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also interested. Osimhen has seven goals in 13 Serie A appearances this season but netted an impressive 26 times on the way to last season's title.

Onana price-tag

Arsenal are also thought to be keen on a summer move for Amadou Onana but Everton are under no pressure to sell their midfielder. The i reports that Sean Dyche's side value their man 'significantly north' of £50m.

Belgian international Onana has long been on the radar of Arsenal's recruitment team, consistently impressing since his £33m move to Goodison Park in August 2022. The 22-year-old has attracted interest from several top Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Newcastle.

But Everton are yet to receive a single enquiry for Onana this month and as Thursday's deadline closes in, seem less and less likely to sanction a late exit. Any move for the former Lille man looks set to come in the summer.
