Arsenal are set to turn their attention to Juventus’ midfielder star Arthur, as they appear to have missed out on their number one target.
The Gunners’ number one target was Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes, but deal with the Ligue 1 club has proven to be “too complicated”.

It appears Arsenal have now turned their attention to former Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo.
In a tweet, Romano said: “Arsenal are working to sign a new midfielder.
“Bruno Guimaraes appreciated but currently not discussed as January target - deal too complicated £40 million fee.

A six-month loan for Arthur until the end of the season would provide sufficient cover for Arsenal’s midfield.
The Juventus midfielder has struggled for game time in the Serie A this season, and has played just 11 games.
According to the Daily Mail, the Brazilian is keen to make the switch for north London, as both Arsenal and the player are waiting for Massimiliano Allegri to give the move the green light.

Hide AdArthur moved to Juventus from Barcelona, in a swap deal that involved Miralem Pjanic going the other way in 2020, but the midfielder has struggled to cement a regular place in Juventus’ team.
That has carried over to this season, where he has only made four starts.
Despite his inconsistent game time in Turin, Arthur is a regular for his country where he has picked up 17 caps, and was also part of the 2019 Brazil squad that won Copa America.
His last performance for his country came back in November, where he scored against Uruguay in a 2-0 win.
