Juventus striker Moise Kean has seen an imminent loan move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid cancelled after the striker failed a medical this week. The 23-year-old has also been linked with a move to Arsenal this month.

The Italy international's future had been up in the air during the January window after a barren 12 appearances for the Serie A club which saw the player fail to hit the net once. With Juventus wanting to offload Kean, clubs including Arsenal, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid had been named as potential destinations.

It appeared that the Spanish side had emerged as the frontrunners for the forward, who has previously played for Everton in the Premier League. Kean landed back in Turin on Tuesday having jetted over to Spain to finalise a loan move which collapsed due to injury worries.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star hasn't played since picking up a shin injury at the start of December and it is thought his return would not be soon enough to make the loan move viable, with Atletico set to pay Juventus a fee of around £430,000.

The player is now available again, although results of that medical would raise red flags for any suitors looking to bring the player in for a short-term impact. Kean's Juventus contract is set to run until 2025, having signed for the side from Everton for £25 million last year.

Links with Mikel Arteta's Arsenal appeared to stem from reported Juventus interest in Gunners youngster Charlie Patino, who is spending the current campaign on loan at Championship side Swansea City. The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most exciting up-and-coming English talents and is already being linked with big clubs.

It is believed that Juventus had been willing to play to Arsenal's hunt for a striker by offering to send Kean to the Emirates Stadium to sweeten a potential deal from Patino. The London club have put a price tag of around £25 million on Patino's head, according to TeamTalk.
