Arsenal learn £50m price tag for striker as Premier League 'target' closes in on contract agreement
Arsenal were left frustrated on Saturday after failing to hold on to a lead against Brighton away from home, ultimately settling for a draw. The Gunners must now pick themselves up quickly, returning to action as soon as Tuesday night when they face Newcastle United in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi final clash.
The Gunners will be sweating on the fitness of Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard for that one after having to play without them on Saturday. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Hide AdArteta on transfer need
Arsenal boss Arteta was asked whether Saturday’s draw proved the need for a new signing, with claims that the Gunners will add an attacker this month following the loss of Bukayo Saka to injury.
He responded: “Obviously we cannot make a decision based on one performance on one day where there are a lot of circumstances - not only the players that were lost, but the sub to take Ethan out, the one with Martin is introduced for very limited time. Hopefully on Tuesday we will be in a better position, let’s see.”
Cunha blow
Reported Arsenal target Matheus Cunha could be taken off the table by way of a new contract, with Wolves said to be close to agreeing a deal that would see the striker become available if they were to be relegated.
AS journalist Eduardo Burgos has reported on X: “EXC. Matheus Cunha's renewal with Wolves is close. The only thing left to do is the release clause. They are negotiating to include a low clause if the team is relegated. Arsenal want him for this transfer window, but Wolves are refusing to sell him. He is vital to the club.”

Arsenal will face intense competition if they decide to turn to PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani in their bid to land an attacker this month. Tottenham, AC Milan, Juventus and Galatasaray are all said to be interested in a deal for the forward, who has not panned out for the Parisiens.
According to TuttoSport, PSG are happy to lose Muani this January, but despite reports of a possible loan move, the French side are said to prefer an outright sale worth £50million. That would see them lose around £14million in the space of 18 months or so.
