He lost his place as number one to Aaron Ramsdale in the last campaign and has since spoken about behind-the-scenes ‘politics’ at the Emirates Stadium, telling Bild:

Arteta has responded to this and has said, as per the Express:
“I’m really surprised and I don’t know if he’s talking about the politics when he was starting every match or when he wasn’t playing. Really surprised about it.”

Ex-Arsenal player Theo Walcott reportedly held talks over a surprise move to the Championship in the last transfer window.
