Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot. The midfielder is currently away in Qatar with the France squad and helped his country beat Australia 4-1 in their first game of the tournament. According to a report by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, Mikel Arteta’s side are interested along with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Competition for winger

The Gunners will have to see off strong competition from across Europe if they are to land in-demand Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach in the January transfer window. He is out of contract at the end of the season and is due to become a free agent in June 2023. As per Mundo Deportivo, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have ‘joined’ the race for his signature.

Goalkeeper hailed

Young Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has been a hit on loan at Crewe Alexandra this term. He was given the green light to join the Cheshire side in League Two on a temporary basis over the summer to get some experience under his belt.

The Railwaymen’s ‘keeper coach Phil Barker has told their club website: “The world is his oyster, he can be whatever he wants to be. He is a good learner, a good listener, and he’s come on a lot. He’s got great physical attributes and he is talented, and he is prepared to work very hard to get better.

“I didn’t realise how much work there was to be done with him, if I’m honest. To get Arthur here, I got Aaron Ramsdale – who I used to coach - to pull a few favours for me, because there were a few clubs after him, from the Championship down.”
