Jesus injury latest

Gabriel Jesus suffered a possible injury blow in Sevilla, and a fresh update has emerged on his current situation. According to the Evening Standard, Jesus will undergo a scan today (Thursday) to discover the extent of his setback.

The striker scored against Sevilla and put on a superb performance, but he clutched his hamstring with around nine minutes to go and had to be replaced. The Brazilian could face weeks on the sideline, but the scan will determine what - if any -significant damage has been done.

Tomiyasu decision emerges

Arteta was key in blocking a possible exit for Takehiro Tomiyasu during the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. Tomiyasu impressed in the clash with Sevilla.

“Takehiro Tomiyasu is another player earning praise for his recent performances and although I don’t currently have any information on the possibility of a new contract soon, Arsenal are very happy with his performances,” the journalist said.

“I can also reveal that Inter Milan wanted Tomiyasu in July but Arsenal said no; Mikel Arteta and Edu wanted to keep him and it was clearly a successful decision, he’s really appreciated at the club and is really showing his value and versatility at the moment.”
