A look at the Arsenal injury situation as the international break takes hold.

Arsenal now head into the international break after taking care of business against Southampton on Saturday. The Gunners fell behind against the Saints, but goals from Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka saw them secure a turnaround win.

Heading into the second international break, Arsenal remain undefeated, one point behind leaders Liverpool and level on points with Manchester City in second. The break will provide a good opportunity for some of Arsenal’s injured players to recover, and here we run you through the latest on those who are struggling with injury issues.

Odegaard suffered significant ligament damage to his ankle while on international duty with Norway last month. Arteta said over the weekend: “Martin, it is very difficult. He is working so hard and pushing so it is difficult to give a timeline."

Ben White

Possible return date: October 19 vs Bournemouth

White missed out with a knee injury over the weekend, with Arteta explaining: “We had to modify training for them [Timber and White]. We have a decision to make.” It’s likely he will return after the break, though.

Jurrien TImber

Possible return date: OcTtober 19 vs Bournemouth

It’s not clear what type of injury Timber has, but the same information as above applies. The defender should not miss much time.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Possible return date: October 19 vs Bournemouth

Arteta has said of Zinchenko’s calf injury: "Alex [will] probably [be fit] after the international break.” The Ukrainian will be eager to get back to fight for a starting spot amid intense competition with the likes of Timber and Riccardo Calafiori.

Tomiyasu has been struggling with a knee injury all season, yet to feature, but he is part of the group, alongside White and Timber, who returned to contention for the Saints clash only to miss out come kick-off. With that in mind, he should return after the break.
