White, Partey, Jorginho: Arsenal latest injury news and expected return dates ahead of Real Madrid

Arsenal’s priority towards the end of the season became clear this weekend as they dropped points in the Premier League again.
They drew 1-1 against Brentford, leaving them 13 points away from league leaders Liverpool who could be one game away from securing the Premier League title. The Gunners do however still have a shot at silverware in the Champions League.

Hide AdArsenal won 3-0 against Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, taking an advantage into the second leg on Wednesday night, and hoping to set up a tie with either Paris Saint-Germain or Aston Villa in the semi-finals. Due to injury, they could be without up to eight players for that game.
Ben White
Defender White was not fit enough to be in the squad against Brentford over the weekend, and he is currently being assessed ahead of their game against Real Madrid on Wednesday. He has recovered from a long-term knee injury, but isn’t back to full health, meaning that Mikel Arteta may have to ease him back in slowly.
Potential return date - Sunday 20 April vs Ipswich Town
Thomas Partey
The Ghana international scored Arsenal’s only goal of the game against Brentford, but he picked up a knock during the game and is now being assessed over his fitness ahead of Madrid on Wednesday.
Arteta said after the Brentford draw: “He felt something, so we didn't want to take any risks. I haven't spoken to the doctors yet, so they will check in now and see how he is.”

Midfielder Jorginho is also a doubt for the game against Madrid as he is dealing with a rib injury that he picked up during the match over the weekend.
Arteta said: “I don't know. He said he could not breathe properly, so it might be to do with one of the ribs. It is strange because Jorgi normally carries on, so that means it is something significant, I think.”
Seeing as the Arsenal manager thinks it could be significant, it is unlikely that the Italian will feature in midweek.

Riccardo Calafiori
Defender Calafiori is dealing with a knee injury that he picked up whilst on international duty late in March. He looks to be out until next month as the injury is more severe than initially feared.

Potential return date - Saturday 3 May vs Bournemouth
Kai Havertz
The Gunners saw a positive update on Havertz last week as the Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed that the attacker could make a return from his hamstring injury before the end of the season after he was ruled out until next year in February.
He said: “It looks and sounds like his recovery is going well, so perhaps they’ll try to reintegrate him before the season finishes if it is safe to do so and there is something to play for. But let’s see – a lot of ‘ifs’ in that!”
Potential return date - Next season
Gabriel
Gabriel was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during the Gunners’ 2-1 win against Fulham after the international break. He underwent surgery and will be back for Arsenal at the start of next season.
Potential return date - July 2025

Tomiyasu is also working to make a return at the start of next season as he underwent two separate surgeries on his knee this year, in which he has made just one appearance for the Gunners.
Potential return date - October 2025
Gabriel Jesus
Brazilian striker Jesus is also dealing with a serious, season-ending injury that he suffered in January. It was an ACL issue and he underwent surgery on it earlier in the year.
The former Man City striker is hoping to make a return as early as possible next season, but it is looking more like he will work towards a return before the end of 2025.
Potential return date - November 2025
