Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Gabriel Martinelli about extending his stay. The winger has made a strong start to the new campaign and has scored four goals in 11 games in all competitions.

According to reporter Fabrizio Romano (see tweet below), the club are in ‘direct negotiations’ with him over a new deal. His current contract expires in the summer of 2024.

Competition in pursuit of midfielder

Juventus loan man Manuel Locatelli, who has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium, is said to be on the radar of West Ham. He is currently on loan at the Allianz Stadium from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo.

Arsenal are also believed to be in talks with Bukayo Saka about fresh terms. The winger has helped Arteta’s side rise to the summit of the table and scored twice against Liverpool over the weekend.

The Daily Mail report he could earn up to £200,000 a week if he puts pen-to-paper on his proposed new deal. He has risen up through the youth ranks of the London club and is now one of their most prized assets.
