Journalist Fabrizio Romano has refused to rule out a late Arsenal swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moses Caicedo. Mikel Arteta’s side have until the transfer window shuts on Tuesday to add further bodies into their squad as they chase down the title.

Caicedo is a man in-demand after catching the eye with the Seagulls over recent times and they will be keen to keep him. Romano has told CaughtOffside: “I wouldn’t exclude anything happening in the final days, after last summer they tried on Deadline Day for Douglas Luiz out of nothing. Let’s see for Caicedo, it’s important to underline that Brighton have no intention to sell unless they receive an important bid; Arsenal are informed on the player’s side.”

Attacker linked

The Gunners are being linked with a swoop for Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa this summer. According to Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, the Italy international is Arteta’s ‘number one’ target at the end of this season.

Chiesa, who is 25-years-old, has scored 19 goals in 69 games in all competitions since joining Juve from Fiorentina. Arsenal could see him as someone to further bolster their options going forward.
