Arsenal express 'interest' in PSG loan deal as Fulham boss issues Crystal Palace verdict

All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Premier League ahead of another big week of action.

A huge weekend of Premier League action awaits as teams look to go into the international break with a win, and for some teams, it’s almost a necessity. Arsenal are one of those teams having fallen away from the top two, going up against a Chelsea side who are above them on goal difference this weekend.

Before that, West Ham take on Everton, Brentford take on Bournemouth and Crystal Palace host Fulham in an all-London clash. We also have Tottenham’s home clash with Ipswich Town as part of a Sunday double-header ahead of that Arsenal and Chelsea clash. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Premier League.

Muani interest

Arsenal are said to be interested in a move for a current PSG striker ahead of the January transfer window. According to The Boot Room, the Gunners have been alerted by the availability of Randal Kolo Muani, who could be allowed to leave Paris on loan.

It’s claimed Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all interested in a potential deal. Mikel Arteta has resisted signing a striker, largely relying on Kai Havertz, while he also has Gabriel Jesus to use. But Arsenal may feel they need something more in January, and a loan deal could tempt them given they are unlikely to spend big money in the winter.

Silva on Palace

Fulham boss Marco Silva has issued a positive verdict on Crystal Palace ahead of Saturday’s all-London clash at Selhurst Park. “It’s going to be a Palace side that wants to get better results,” he said. “Last week for them was really good, because they won against Spurs, they kept themselves in the Carabao Cup in a tough game away from home against Villa, and they got a draw against Wolves away from home.

“That means that after a really tough start for them, the last week, even with all these problems and all these injuries, they were able to get points, with a great win at home against Tottenham as well. It’s going to be tough, normally at home they are really tough to play against – that pressure, the way they play, the way they try to press every time, with the crowd behind them. It’s going to be a tough one.”

Shearer’s Newcastle warning

Alan Shearer has warned Newcastle United over the potential danger Nottingham Forest pose, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in fine form. “Chris Wood is in the form of his life, scoring again last week and Forest’s two centre-backs are also both impressive; Murillo and Milenkovic have formed a real partnership there and they had a really good win against West Ham,” he told Metro.

“Newcastle were brilliant against Arsenal and back to their normal selves once again and if they were back at home, I’d be tempted to say Newcastle will win, but I’ll go for a draw at the City Ground.”
