Arsenal are looking to cash in on some of their senior talent in January as they aim to thin out their squad and also raise funds for future signings. The likes of Thomas Partey have been heavily mentioned when it comes to potential new year exits but it’s unlikely the midfielder will be the only one Arsenal are listening to offers for.

The Gunners could be set to make a U-turn on one of their recent transfer decisions when the new year rolls in. Last week, Football Insider reported that Mikel Arteta was not willing to part ways with Aaron Ramsdale but a new update could spell out his departure after all.

The follow-up report claims that the goalkeeper is growing to be unhappy playing second string to David Raya, who joined the Emirates on a season-long loan from Brentford in the summer.

Ramsdale is reportedly looking to move elsewhere in search of regular football, not only to put himself in contention for England at Euro 2024, but also to keep his domestic performances ticking over. In a surprise twist, Arsenal could now be prepared to listen to offers for the 25-year-old next year.

Arteta had stressed he was happy with having the two shot-stoppers on his books but a Ramsdale will leave his side free to return to the market and sign a new No.2 option in 2024.

Raya has quickly become the favoured option in between the sticks for Arsenal and if they want to sign him permanently, they will need to pay a reported £27 million to seal the deal. Ramsdale is currently valued at £27.8 million by Transfermarkt, which would give the Gunners the full whack to spend on Raya.

Premier League rivals Chelsea have registered their interest in Ramsdale and are ‘preparing shock January bid’ for the Englishman, according to Ben Jacobs.
