The Chelsea striker is set to complete a £65 million move to Arsenal and is eyeing up a return to Champions League football after 2021 triumph.

Arsenal fan excitement for the imminent arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea on a bumper £65 million reached a fever pitch on Wednesday morning as fans believed to find a ‘leaked’ announcement video online.

The German is set to swap Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium this summer and become Mikel Arteta’s first signing of the window as he looks to bolster a Gunners side for another title chase.

In the clip circulated on social media platforms including TikTok and Twitter, the forward can be seen wearing the famous red and white of Arsenal as he dons the home kit. Havertz is seen wearing the number 29, the same shirt number he played with at Stamford Bridge.

In the 16-second clip, Havertz smirks at the camera and holds up two polaroids to the tune of ‘Keep On Moving’ by The Hygrades. The video ends with the message, ‘Welcome to North London’.

As well as the apparent announcement video, some fans seemed to get their hands on an interview Havertz gave with the club’s media team to build the hype around his arrival.

In the 'leaked' clip, the Daily Mail reports that the 24-year-old said: "It's super exciting for me personally. I'm so glad to join this amazing club, this club has such a big history, and I hope we can achieve lots of big things.

"You can just see the family mentality that the team has on the pitch and I guess, you know, they have it off the pitch as well. That was one of the reasons why it was so hard to play against Arsenal."

The star goes on to share his excitement to return to the Champions League next season, which he labels a ‘special tournament’, and that he hoped to keep the number 29 for sentimental reasons.

Havertz shared that as a youngster he would always select the number when playing video games with his younger brother and that its presence on his back was somewhat of a good luck charm.
