Arsenal continue to work on a deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, as well as being linked with two Barcelona stars.

It’s been a rare quiet weekend without football for Arsenal but that’s a timely break ahead of this week’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta has all attention focused on the European tournament as the last opportunity for silverware this season. Should the Gunners get the better of the French giants, a date with either Barcelona and Inter Milan awaits in the final.

It’s an exciting time to be an Arsenal supporter with Andrea Berta also arriving at the club to usher in a new era of transfer moves. LondonWorld looks at how Arsenal could line up next season if the latest transfer rumours do prove to be true.

Arsenal prepare £55m bid for Barcelona defender

Goalkeeper - David Raya

Defenders - Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel, Dean Huijsen, Jules Kounde

David Raya continues to look a steal for the £27 million paid to Brentford as he impresses between the sticks. The Spaniard could have somewhat of a new-look defence in front of him next term with stalwart William Saliba said to be a transfer target for Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has named the Gunners as one of the clubs weighing up a bid for impressive AFC Bournemouth man Dean Huijsen, who could slot in should Saliba leave. Chelsea and Liverpool are also named as potential suitors. Meanwhile, The Sun claimed over the weekend that Arsenal are ‘lining up a £55 million’ bid for Barcelona full-back Jules Kounde.

Martin Zubimendi move to Arsenal in ‘advanced stage’

Midfielders - Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Martin Zubimendi

Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard continue to be imperious at the heart of midfield for Arsenal. Jorginho and Thomas Partey are both currently out of contract at the Emirates Stadium this summer, but there have been reports recently that the latter may be offered a new deal thanks to his performances of late.

Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi has long been linked with Arsenal and those rumours don’t appear to be going anywhere. ESPN claim that the London outfit are in an ‘advanced stage’ in those talks with the midfielder available to buy thanks to a £51 million release clause.

Arsenal could pay £70 million for Viktor Gyokeres

Wingers - Bukayo Saka, Raphinha

Striker - Viktor Gyokeres

Keeping Bukayo Saka fit next season will be an absolute priority for Mikel Arteta. The England international has proven just how important he is to the side since returning from the hamstring injury picked up against Crystal Palace in December.

Raheem Sterling is set to return to Chelsea with any moves to make that loan permanent surely unlikely after his underwhelming season. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli have both been linked with exits in recent months but Fichajes has claimed that Barcelona could be open to selling Raphinha and link Arsenal.

Meanwhile, signing a striker is the mission currently on technical director Andrea Berta’s mind. The most likely candidate at this point appears to be Sporting CP bagsman Viktor Gyokeres with CaughtOffside claiming that the Gunners could pay almost £70 million to sign the goalscorer, who has proven himself a monster in front of goals this season, bagging 48 times already.

In other news, David Ornstein names 2 strikers Arsenal might sign and 2 they won't.
