Arsenal want £13m discount on winger with £52m release clause this January

Arsenal are said to be interested in signing a La Liga winger in the January transfer window.

Arsenal are said to be considering a deal to sign another Real Sociedad star having already brought in three former La Real players to date. The Gunners have signed Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad over the last year or so, while Martin Odegaard also spent time at the Basque club on loan during his Real Madrid days.

Mikel Arteta has already got plenty out of Merino, who kept the team ticking over by playing out of position up front last season, while Zubimendi already looks to be an inspired signing. The £60million arrival has been excellent so far and a key cog in Arsenal’s fine start to the season.

According to reports, Arsenal could go back to that fruitful fountain to land a new attacker in the January transfer window. Spanish outlet Fichajes are claiming that Arsenal are expressing an interest in Real Sociedad winger Take Kubo, who is another former Real Madrid talent who has ended up in the Basque Country.

Kubo is reportedly unhappy about La Real’s recruitment and he is being tipped to look for a fresh challenge despite having a contract up to 2029. The Spanish club are currently in the relegation zone at this early stage, and they don’t currently look as though they will meet the standards set in recent years when they have regularly qualified for Europe.

Kubo has been a key part of that success in the last couple of years, but he too has struggled early in the season, scoring once in five league appearances. while he scored five times last season.

The 24-year-old would not be among the starters for Arsenal should he sign, but he would provide further depth out wide, and he is still a young player who has a big ceiling given his obvious technical ability.

Kubo is very tricky and quick, and he could be seen as an interesting alternative to open up tight games. He is valued at £26.2million by Transfermarkt, but a deal would cost more than that. He has a £52million release clause and the report claims Arsenal would be interested in striking a deal at around £39million.
