Arsenal defender to be a transfer 'target' for AC Milan in the summer

An Arsenal defender could make the jump to the Serie A in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior could be on the move in the summer transfer window. According to a report from the Evening Standard, he is in the sights of 'several' clubs in Serie A - including Italian giants AC Milan.

Clubs have shown an interest in he player previously - in January, teams from Italy were thought to have made an attempt to bring him on board, but the Gunners rejected their advances. It could be a different story in the summer, though.

Arsenal have had injury problems at the back this season, which is likely why they were reluctant to let the 19-cap Polish international leave in January. Defenders such as Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jurrien Timber have all spent time on the side lines this season - Timber, in particular, has been out of action for almost the entirety of the current campaign.

Should Arsenal allow Jakub Kiwior to leave the club?

Kiwior's Arsenal career is still in its relative infancy - he has been at the club for just over a year at this point, having moved to North London in January of 2023. Due to this, many may feel that he deserves more time to prove that he can be a key player at the Emirates Stadium - but his performances so far seems to indicate that this will not be the case.

He has struggled for minutes in the Premier League this season, having made just 11 appearances - racking up a single assist along the way. In the games that he has played 45 minutes or more in, the Gunners have kept just a single clean sheet. His technical ability is certainly there, possessing a decent range of passing, but he often struggles on the defensive end of things - especially against the Premier League's more physically-gifted attacking players.
