Arsenal 'decide on' prime January target as Gareth Southgate explains omission of Gunners star

All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they turn their attention back to the Premier League.

Arsenal are now well on their way to the Champions League knockout stages after seeing off Sevilla on Wednesday night. The Gunners are four points clear of second and third place with just two games remaining, and they can now turn attention back to the Premier League knowing they have taken care of business in Europe, at least for now.

Burnley are next up in the Premier League, and the Gunners should be confident of picking up all three points at home given how Vincent Kompany's men have struggled so far this season. As Arsenal look to go into the international break on a high, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Vlahovic 'interest'

Arsenal are said to be interested in a deal for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the January transfer window. The Gunners are said to be on the lookout for a striker ahead of the winter window, and Ivan Toney has been heavily linked.

But according to Football Transfers, Juve frontman Vlahovic is the prime target, with the Italian giants reportedly considering cashing in after just two years. Arsenal have been linked with a move for Vlahovic in the past, but it's claimed they will circle back this January as they look to add to their front line.

Southgate on White

Gareth Southgate has explained his reasoning for not selecting Gunners star Ben White for the upcoming England fixtures. He said: "I assume (he's up for selection). Ben's been very solid for Arsenal this season. He is a different profile of fullback, a centre-back playing at full-back.

"He's doing a good job for his club, he's just behind a couple of others in the reckoning at the moment." White has been a steady performer for the Gunners, but he appears to face a challenge in his bid to make the Euros squad next summer.
