Arsenal ‘could make late move’ on transfer deadline day as deal ‘agreed’

All the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Arsenal ahead of the transfer deadline.

Arsenal are now negotiating the final hours of transfer deadline day ahead of a big clash this weekend. The Gunners suffered a setback last weekend when they drew with Fulham, and they now face a tricky looking test against Manchester United.

But before then, Edu and Mikel Arteta must make sure the squad has sufficient strength to maintain a Premier League title push, while they must also offload players who are not going to be playing regularly. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Nelsson interest

Arsenal have been tipped to make a late move for Galatasaray star Victor Nelsson.

Rudy Galetti told GiveMeSport: “Arsenal, as we know, completed the exit of Balogun to Monaco and Nuno Tavares to Nottingham Forest, so they are now focused on a possible replacement for Jurrien Timber, who is out for many months. Victor Nelsson, from Galatasaray, is one of the players on the list. But a possible replacement for Timber is also Perr Schuurs.”

Nelsson is a centre-back who has 10 caps for Denmark, racking up 62 league appearances for his current club so far.

Holding deal struck

The Gunners are finally said to have agreed a deal to sell Rob Holding. Holding was always going to leave before the deadline having struggled for appearances, and Mike McGrath has now reported that a £4million deal has been agreed with Crystal Palace.

Roy Hodgson wants more depth at centre-back, and Holding should get more regular football at Selhurst Park having been a back-up player at Arsenal. The Gunners have needed to offload a number of fringe players ahead of the deadline, and after offloading Nuno Tavares, it seems they have managed to get another player off their books ahead of that all-important deadline.
