Former Leeds United star Alfie Haaland has dropped a hint Arsenal could be set to receive a major boost in their bid for a first Premier League title in two decades.

The Gunners pushed eventual champions Manchester City all of the way last season before ended the campaign five points adrift of Pep Guardiola's side when the campaign came to a close. Boosted by the arrivals of the likes of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and David Raya, Arsenal look set to for another title push this season and a currently sat in second place, just one point behind current leaders Liverpool.

There are several clubs involved in the push for a top four place this season, with Aston Villa, winners against Arsenal on Saturday, proving to be this season's surprise package under former Gunners manager Unai Emery.

They sit two points ahead of reigning champions City, who have hit something of a patchy spell of form after Sunday's hard-fought win at Luton Town came on the back of draws against Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as a 1-0 defeat at Villa.

The weekend win against Luton was secured without the services of top goalscorer Erling Haaland after the Norway international suffered a foot injury following the defeat at Villa Park. Guardiola admitted he was unsure how long he would be without the services of the former Borussia Dortmund striker, suggesting his recovery would be monitored 'week by week, day by day'.

However, there could be an unlikely hint over Haaland's fitness after his father, Alfie, removed the striker from his Fantasy Football team. Given there has been no official comment or update on the injury, a keen-eyed observation from X user @FPLFocal revealed Haaland senior transferred Haaland out of his team and replaced him with Liverpool star Mo Salah and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak.

He wasn't the only family member to do the same; Haaland's brother Astor and girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen did the same which casts doubt over his availability of the next few games. As it stands, he remains out of all of their teams.
