Arsenal are back on top in the Premier League after seeing off Brighton at home over the weekend. The Gunners took advantage of results elsewhere to reclaim top spot thanks to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz's goals at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men are now looking ahead to this weekend's huge clash with second placed Liverpool at Anfield, and that could prove a defining clash in the title race, even this early in the campaign. In the meantime, we take a look at the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Striker claim

Arsenal have been tipped to sell one player in a bid to secure an upgrade during the January transfer window. According to Football Transfers, the Gunners are interested in signing either Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic or Brentford frontman Ivan Toney this winter.

Though, amid Financial Fair Play concerns, it's reported the Gunners could sanction the sale of Eddie Nketiah, who has stepped up at key moments this season, in order to fund a deal. Many have claimed the Gunners should sign another striker, but having spent more than £200million in the summer, pulling off a deal may not be straightforward.

Neville's warning

Gary Neville has warned Liverpool that they must up their game if they want to avoid losing to Arsenal next weekend. The pundit was speaking during Liverpool's goalless draw with Manchester United when they dominated overall but started poorly.

“If Liverpool were to play like this against Arsenal next week, they’d be two or three down by now," said Neville. The two teams are currently separated by just one point as things stand with just two games to go until the halfway mark. Meanwhile, Aston Villa are also just a point behind Arsenal, with Manchester City currently five points worse off.
