What will arguably be the biggest transfer of the summer window in England is expected to be made official in the coming days as Declan Rice completes his £105 million move from West Ham to Arsenal.

The England international’s arrival could potentially be just one major new incoming confirmed by the Gunners this week with Ajax defender Jurrien Timber also thought to be close to signing with the North London club. Meanwhile, supporters will likely be saying goodbye to Granit Xhaka who looks set to join Bundesliga outfit Bayern Leverkusen.

That is some major transfer news and there is still even more being reported with Arsenal having reportedly managed to fend off interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City for one of their most promising young stars. Elsewhere, there has been a major update surrounding defender William Saliba and his contract. Here are the latest Arsenal transfer news headlines on Thursday, July 6:

Arsenal ‘confirm’ future of Man Utd linked star who Chelsea ‘tired to sign’

Per a report from 90min, Arsenal have confirmed that teenage prodigy Ethan Nwaneri is staying with the club despite attempts from London rivals Chelsea to poach him. The player is also said to have been of interest to both Manchester United and Manchester City.

It is claimed that Nwaneri has ‘rejected the advances of Chelsea’ to remain at the Emirates Stadium. That is because the Gunners have named him among 13 first year scholars for the 2023/24 season.

Italian football journalist and ‘transfer guru’ Fabrizio Romano says that a deal is ‘finally done’ for William Saliba to sign a new long term contract with Arsenal. The Frenchman will reportedly sign a new deal to keep him at the club for four more seasons and include an option of a further year.
