Defender latest

Arsenal are ‘confident’ of securing a new contract for defender Ben White in what would be a big boost for the London outfit, according to reporter Fabrizio Romano on X. The 26-year-old, who is an England international with four caps under his belt so far in his career, has become one of the Gunners’ most prized assets over recent times and is now poised to commit his future to Mikel Arteta’s side.

White joined the club back in 2021 from fellow top flight outfit Brighton and Hove Albion and has since made 95 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with three goals from the back. He is a useful option to have in the squad as he can play at either centre-back or full-back if needed.

Youngster linked

Brazilian journalist Thiago Ferreira has confirmed on his YouTube channel that Arsenal are interested in a move for Fluminense starlet Andre along with rivals Liverpool. The 22-year-old has stood out in the Brazilian Serie A over recent campaigns and his current club could face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future amid reported interest from Europe.

Andre, who has played once for the Brazil national team, has been on the books at the Maracanã Stadium for his whole career to date and broke into the first-team as a youngster back in 2020. He has since played 150 games and has found the net three times.
