Champions League Prize Money: Arsenal winnings confirmed after PSG defeat

Arsenal dreams of winning the Champions League were crushed by a determined Paris Saint-Germain outfit at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night in an action-filled second leg.
The hosts went into the match with a 1-0 lead thanks to their victory at the Emirates Stadium last week and an aggressive Gunners side looked ready to put the favourites’ resolve to the test in the French capital. For all of Mikel Arteta’s side huffing and puffing, Arsenal never took the lead and the match finished as a 2-1 victory to the French side.

Champions League prize money
Arteta and his side will now focus on ensuring they are not caught in the chase for Champions League football over their remaining three Premier League fixtures against Liverpool, Newcastle United and already relegated Southampton. Attention will then turn to the transfer window this summer and who new technical director Andrea Berta will sign for the club.
Arsenal’s progress in the Champions League will add some funds to the transfer kitty thanks to prize money. As per GiveMeSport, a Champions League win sees the triumphant club awarded a huge £21.1 million.
The runners-up of the competition receive £15.6 million, but Arsenal won’t be competing in the final in Munich later this month. Instead, the London club will receive £12.7 million for making it to the semi-final of the tournament.

Mikel Arteta determined to bring silverware to Emirates Stadium
Arsenal will finish the 2024/25 season without a piece of silverware. Speaking ahead of the trip to Paris, Arteta was asked if he felt under pressure to bring a trophy back to the Emirates Stadium.
He said: “We're going to try to do this season. Winning trophies as well is about being in the right moment, in the right place. Liverpool have won the title with less points than we have in the last two seasons. With the points of the last two seasons, we would have two Premier League titles. So, you have to be in the right moment, in the right place. Hopefully here we are in the right moment, in the right place in Paris tomorrow, to earn the right to be in the final.
“Well, I think it's within us [winning the Champions League], as you said, we don't need anything else. Now we need to use it to channel that energy, that emotion, that weakness that we all have inside ourselves to deliver and perform at the best possible level, at the highest level that each of us has tomorrow, to deliver the result that we need to be in that final.”
