20-year-old Azeez spent last season on loan at second division side Ibiza, before finishing the campaign on loan at Wigan Athletic.

Whilst the youngster still has one year to run on his current contract, Barcelona are confident that they will be able to reach an agreement with Arsenal which will see the Gunners secure a percentage of any future sale.

Previously regarded as one of Arsenal's top youth prospects, Azeez has struggled to make an impact during loan spells with the club now open to letting him leave this summer.

Azeez would not be the first Arsenal youth product to swap north London for Spain, with Marcus McGuane joining the Blaugrana side in 2017.

Priority target Rice joins in a club record £106million move from West Ham, while Ajax defender Timber puts pen to paper on a long-term deal after a fee in the region of £40million was agreed.

The Gunners are looking to shift several players this summer with Granit Xhaka, Folarin Balogun and Nuno Tavares among those expected to depart in the coming weeeks.
