Arsenal are now gearing up for a huge clash with leaders Liverpool on Sunday. Five points currently separate the two sides, and while points will be won and lost by both clubs between now and the end of the season, this is the Gunners' last guaranteed chance to gain points on the Reds.

The Gunners had a quiet January transfer window, doing all of their spending in the summer, but the news and transfer rumours continue to pour in. Here we round up all the latest surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Contract 'breakthrough'

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a new contract with full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu. According to TeamTalk, the 25-year-old has extended his deal beyond his previous expiry date of 2025.

Tomiyasu has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season, and the club have moved to tie him down, according to the report. It's reported the terms have been agreed, but the contract will be finalised when Tomiyasu returns from the Asian Cup this month.

Osimhen claim

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer, but journalist Paul Brown claims Chelsea believe they are favourites to pull off a deal.

He told GiveMeSport: "I think if a striker joins Chelsea today it's going to be more of a stop-gap signing rather than a high-profile one. There's no chance they get someone like Osimhen this late in the window and they're still in for him. They regard themselves as favourites if he is to leave in the summer. I think they're willing to wait and try hard for that one."
