Arsenal are now working in the Florida heat as they ramp up their preparations for the new season.

After a trip to Baltimore, where they saw off Everton, Mikel Arteta’s men are now in Florida, where they will take on Orlando City in the early hours of Thursday morning, ahead of facing Chelsea in the early hours of Sunday.

Melo talks details

Arsenal are now said to be in talks with Juventus over the possible signing of Arthur Melo.

According to TuttoJuve, the Gunners have now ‘activated’ talks, though they are said to be tentative at this stage.

Arsenal would need to pay a fee of around £27million if they want to sign Melo, though there have been whispers of a potential loan deal.

Paqueta boost

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Lyon star Lucas Paqueta.

The Brazilian has been linked with the Gunners, as well as Newcastle, and according to Media Foot, Lyon have now slashed their asking price.

It’s reported Lyon will now accept a £34million fee for Paqueta, making the deal much more accessible to Arsenal.

Another reported target of Arsenal’s is Youri Tielemans, and the midfielder is set for crunch talks with Leicester City this week, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

“One player that Arsenal have had a long-term interest in is Youri Tielemans,” he told Transfer Talk Podcast.

“He has just one year left on his contract and we’ve been told that Tielemans will sit down with Brendan Rodgers this week to discuss his future, so far he’s refused any new deals with Leicester City. That is one to watch as we close in on deadline day,”
