All-time Premier League table without VAR: Where Arsenal, Chelsea & Tottenham would sit as impact highlighted

There have been plenty of controversial moments surrounding VAR since the technology was introduced in the Premier League in 2019. This season saw what was arguably the most contentious of all after Liverpool's Luis Diaz had his legitimate goal against Tottenham Hotspur ruled out after an incorrect application of VAR. Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been charged by the Football Association for his post-match comments following a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United earlier this month.

The match-winning goal had three separate VAR checks to judge if the ball was in play, whether a foul had taken place and if Gordon was onside at the time of the goal. All three decisions were adjudged in Newcastle’s favour, much to the frustration of Arteta, who went on to launch a scathing attack on the VAR officials and the referee in his post-match press conference.
