Arsenal confirm reason for Thomas Partey absence as Mikel Arteta announces XI to face Sevilla

Mikel Arteta has named his Arsenal XI to take on Sevilla in the Champions League.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has handed another start to David Raya in goal for the Gunners’ match against Sevilla.

The Spaniard has struggled between the sticks in recent games, but Arteta has shown faith in his compatriot once again for the Champions League clash.

Takehiro Tomiyasu comes in for Oleksandr Zinchenko, while Jorginho continues in central midfield.

A front three of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka makes up the rest of the team, while Thomas Partey misses out with a ‘muscular’ problem, according to Arsenal.

The substitutes’ bench includes Aaron Ramsdale, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz, and Emile Smith Rowe, the latter trio making an impressive impact after coming off the bench against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
