Manchester City showcased their prowess against Premier League leaders Arsenal in a crucial title race victory at Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne shone brightly, with the pair contributing to three of the goals. De Bruyne opened the scoring with a driving effort past Aaron Ramsdale, before John Stones made it 2-0 with a header.

De Bruyne struck again in the second half, while Rob Holding managed a late consolation goal for the visitors.

The outcome leaves City just two points adrift of the Gunners who they have two games in hand over.

Aaron Ramsdale - Good stop to deny Haaland in first half, but couldn’t do much about the three goals. 5.

Ben White - Big block to stop Kevin De Bruyne at 2-0. Played Stones onside for the third goal. 5.

Rob Holding - Dominated by Haaland and struggled throughout the first half but scored a late consolation. 4.

Gabriel - Couldn’t handle the Man City attack’s constant pressure. 4.

Oleksandr Zinchenko - Struggled to keep up with Man City’s wingers and offered little going forward. 5.

Granit Xhaka - Ineffective in midfield and overrun by Man City’s relentless pressing. 5.

Thomas Partey - Failed to track his runners, sloppy passing and generally another poor performance. 4.

Martin Odegaard - Gave ball away for third goal and couldn’t impact the game offensively. 4.

Bukayo Saka - Showed glimpses of his talent but struggled to create chances against a solid Man City defence. 5.

Gabriel Jesus - Worked hard but was largely anonymous, failing to make a real impact on the game. 5.

Gabriel Martinelli - Tried to make things happen but was well-marshalled by the Man City defenders. 5.

Subs:

Jorginho - Came on to add stability in midfield but couldn’t change the course of the game. 6.

Emile Smith Rowe - Showed energy and drive after coming on but wasn’t able to turn the tide. 6.

Reiss Nelson - Once again impacted the game immediately after coming on. Warrants a starting spot. 7.
