Hide AdGunners boss Mikel Arteta, who previously coached the former England man during his time as an assistant at Manchester City, maintains a close relationship with the player and believes Sterling can make a significant impact at Arsenal.
The loan deal would not only provide Arsenal with an experienced Premier League winner but also give the Gunners further attacking options in an area where they are currently lacking depth.
“My time with Raheem was exceptional,” Arteta said last week. “We built a really strong relationship together. He was unbelievable at that time. He taught me a lot as well, about individuals, how players think, and how we support them. He is someone I have really strong feelings about."
Meanwhile, Ipswich are in talks to sign Reiss Nelson on loan in a deal which can pave the way for Sterling to complete his move.
