In today's Arsenal's transfer news, the Gunners have a new priority in mind. They will do whatever they can to bring a £100 million midfielder to the club in January - Edu is thought to be very keen in his pursuit of the player.

Additionally, Arsenal could also allow one of their striker to leave the club in January. However, they will only do so if they receive a £50 million fee - which would be a club record for an outgoing player.

Edu is 'big fan' of Douglas Luiz

By now, Arsenal's interest in Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is well-documented. According to a report from Football Insider, he is the Gunners' 'number one' target - additionally, sporting director Edu is believed to be a 'big fan' of the holding player.

Despite this, a move for him in January is thought to be 'nearly impossible'. This is due to the prohibitively high price tag that Villa have slapped on the Brazilian - anyone who wishes to bring him on board in January will be required to pay a sum of £100 million. Having already paid £105 million for Declan Rice in the summer, it is unlikely that Arsenal will shell out a similar fee so soon after this.

Arsenal could sell Eddie Nketiah for record fee

As Arsenal continue their hunt for a new striker, it could mean that one of their current centre-forwards - namely, Eddie Nketiah - would be considered surplus to requirements and would leave the club.

Despite this, he will not leave the club for a meagre fee. According to 90min, Mikel Arteta will only allow him to be transferred away for a fee of £50 million. He is considered backup to Gabriel Jesus, but has put forth admirable displays whenever he has been called upon.
