England international Saka was always expected to commit his future to the club despite interest from the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Saka, 21, has scored 13 goals and made 11 assists in 35 Premier League games this season and is widely regarded as one of the best young players in Europe.

He will be rewarded with a bumper deal which will make him Arsenal’s highest paid player, while goalkeeper Ramsdale is also being handed a new contract following an impressive campaign between the sticks.

France defender William Saliba, expected to be ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a back injury, is also in advanced talks over a new deal and the Gunners are confident that he will put pen-to-paper soon.
